Overkill for my use, but worth it.
I only do light to medium grade food service and it seems these shoes are a bit overkill for it, but I think it's worth the purchase.
You have a very large foot print compared to other shoes keeping you stable no matter where you step. The soul is sturdy yet flexible. The out soul is incredibly slip resistant. Water on floors mean nothing to me now, but anything greasy on a smooth floor will give me a tough time for grip.
Another plus for me is the added height. I must have an inch more at the heel than any other shoe coming it at 2 whole inches.
I don't like how within the first week the edges of the material around the top of the shoe have begun wear, but it's absolutely clear that it's only the edges and will not spread any further, in fact, the stitching and they way it's constructed is incredibly durable.
A great sturdy and surprisingly comfortable work shoe. It's well worth the price.

Unusual Achilles area wear problem
These Skechers seemed well-made and durable...EXCEPT with regards to the area supporting the Achilles tendon in the right shoe. For me, that area wore out very quickly, and I have had to "patch" it a few times to prevent my Achilles from completely wearing it bare. The left shoe is fine; it is only the right one that has this problem. It must be the way I stand and/or walk in these shoes, which I use for work. (I do use supportive aftermarket inserts.) Other than that, they have held up pretty well. I should also note that I experienced this exact same problem in the past with a pair of Skechers Downforce shoes that I also used for work.
great shoes for work with slippery floors
My son works in a restuarant and was required special shoes for the floors there. These worked out perfectly. Decided to buy a pair for my husband that works on concrete floors. He loves them. Great purchases with a great price.
